Poland, 50 zloty 1962 – original obverse design proof of a banknote created by Andrzej Heidrich, the legendary designer of Polish currency.
Single-sided trial print, never introduced into circulation.
Printed on cardboard paper without watermarks, preserved in pristine condition with vivid coloration and no damage.
A key feature: original handwritten signature by the designer – “Heidrich XI 2011”, placed in the margin.
This is the only known printed piece signed by Andrzej Heidrich himself. The original design is held in the archives of the National Bank of Poland (NBP).
As a reference: during the Lucow Collection Auction (October 2024), unsigned examples (obverse and reverse, mounted on black board) sold for 16,000 PLN + 15% auction fee.
An absolutely unique item and one of the most valuable artifacts in Polish banknote design, highly sought-after by collectors of Andrzej Heidrich’s work and the history of Polish paper money.
